Senior Connections: Navigating Life Skills and Social Inclusion
Program goals and activities:
Promote volunteerism among seniors by encouraging volunteer seniors and other community members to assist seniors living alone in the community.
Engage seniors in the community through mentorship.
Expand awareness of elder abuse and financial abuse through life skills development sessions focused on recognizing and preventing elder abuse, including financial abuse.
Support social participation and inclusion of seniors through workshops for social events and life skills development, such as digital literacy sessions, training seniors on how to use Zoom for meetings from their computers or phones, and receive/answer video calls on their phones to enhance social participation and inclusion.
Improve health and Wellness through a workshop on health screening and management of chronic pain, mental health, nutrition and food.
