With its narrow design, the Minilys requires only a small amount of minimal bench space in your laboratory.

The Minilys utilizes the same technology as the Precellys homogenizer range, disrupting samples with a 3D, figure-8 motion.  It efficiently disrupts samples in minutes and provides high yields of nucleic acids and proteins.

Solidly and ergonomically designed, Minilys ensures easy-handing and safe operations and maximal durability.  A built-in security system stops automatically the operation if lid is improperly closed or is opened in operation, providing additional safety for users.  The controls are very easy to use: simply adjust the cycle duration and rotation speed to your needs using the digital display,

The Minilys accommodates a wide range of sample types from animal & plant tissues to microorganisms.  Three different speeds from 3000-5000 rpm allow you to control the rigor with which samples are homogenized. Detachable tube holders are adapted to three volumes of lysing tubes (0,5 mL, 2 mL or 7 mL), which offers you the flexibility to vary your sample size and volume.

FAQ

How powerful is the Minilys? Can it process very hard / tough samples?

The Minilys is quite powerful for a lower-throughput bead mill homogenizer, but it is not as powerful as the Precellys 24 and not nearly as powerful as the Precellys Evolution. For instance, it will not grind bone. The large majority of small tissue samples and cultured cells can be processed in it, however.

How fast does the Minilys shake the tubes, in terms of absolute speed?

For 2 ml tubes, which have a 16 mm stroke, the maximum velocity (at 5000 rpm) would be 2.67 m / s.

For 7 ml tubes, which have a 17 mm stroke, the maximum velocity would be approximately 2.83 m/s.

Please note that these measurements slightly underestimate the absolute speed, as it only accounts for vertical motion, whereas the actual motion of the tubes is three-dimensional.
