It can simultaneously process a number of sealed vials or test tubes with identical parameters and is excellent for very small volumes. In place of the microtip, the cup horn is attached to the inverted converter. Samples are placed in the cup horn which is then filled with liquid. There is an inlet and outlet enabling liquid to circulate within the cup horn in order to greatly reduce heat buildup. (The cup horn can be used with or without liquid circulation for cooling.)
