The VSS-200 is similar to a Casio SK-1 and Yamaha VSS-30, but better!

The Yamaha VSS-200 is a mini-key sampling keyboard released by Yamaha in 1988, aimed at the consumer and educational market but later adopted by experimental musicians. It features 8-bit PCM sampling using a built-in microphone, with a maximum sampling time of approximately 1.3 seconds, and allows samples to be mapped chromatically across the keyboard. The VSS-200 includes basic sample editing, a built-in digital delay effect, and performance controls such as pitch bend and modulation, and can operate on batteries for portable use. Its limited resolution and short sample time give it a distinctly lo-fi, gritty character, which has made it desirable long after its original release despite its modest specifications.

• This unit has been tested and all functions are working as they should.

• The cosmetic condition of this unit is good! It shows a small amount wear from use and age, like some small marks, nicks and scratches. The keys have yellowed a bit. Nothing major at all. Please see all photos.

• This unit still has its original microphone attached!

• This unit uses an 9-12V Positive Centre power supply. A power adaptor will be included for Australian and New Zealand buyers only.

• This sale is for the unit and PSU (AU & NZ only). No other parts, cables or accessories are included.
