Product Overview
Cupous oxide or Copper (I) oxide, with the molecular formula Cu2O, is an inorganic oxide with a molecular weight of 143.09, a density of 6.0 g/cm3, a melting point of 1235 ¡ãC and a bandgap width of approximately 2.17 eV. It is a p-type semiconductor material with excellent optoelectronic properties. Copper oxide generally has two forms, the natural one commonly found in reddish brown cuprite, and the artificially synthesized one is usually in powder form. Under a scanning electron microscope, it can be observed in the form of nano films, nanowires, or nanorods. Based on different synthesis methods, Cu2O oxide is very stable at room temperature, and only decomposes when heated to 1800 ¡ãC removing oxygen and forming elemental Cu.

Product Features
Good stability and moisture resistance: Copper oxide gradually oxidizes into black copper oxide in humid air, but can remain stable in dry air.
Semiconductor characteristics: It is a p-type semiconductor material with certain optoelectronic properties, capable of absorbing visible light and near-infrared light, and has potential applications in optoelectronic devices. It has high electron mobility and low bandgap, which makes it promising for applications in fields such as solar cells.
Good catalytic performance: can be used in photocatalytic reactions and electrochemical fields.
Application Fields
Optoelectronic devices: Due to their low consumption, narrow bandgap, and visible light excitation ability, cuprous oxide nanoparticles are widely used in the fields of solar cells and photoelectric conversion.
Electronic device applications: As a P-type semiconductor material, cuprous oxide nanoparticles exhibit excellent conductivity and stability as electrode materials in electronic devices such as solar cells, lithium-ion batteries, and supercapacitors.
Photocatalysis: Copper oxide nanoparticles are used as efficient photocatalysts in environmental protection and wastewater treatment for the degradation of organic pollutants and heavy metal ions.
Antibacterial materials: Due to their antibacterial properties, cuprous oxide nanoparticles can be used to manufacture antibacterial coatings, textiles, and medical devices.
