Fort Sill, located in the heart of the old Kiowa-Comanche Indian country in southwestern Oklahoma, is known to a modern generation as the Field Artillery School of the United States Army. To students of American frontier history, it is known as the focal point of one of the most interesting, dramatic, and sustained series of conflicts in the records of western warfare.

From 1833 to 1875, in a theater of action extending from Kansas to Mexico, the strife was almost uninterrupted. The U.S. Army, Kansas militia, Texas Rangers, and white pioneers and traders were arrayed against the fierce and heroic bands of the Kiowas, Comanches, Cheyennes, Arapahoes, and Kiowa-Apaches.

The savage skirmishes with the southwestern Indians before the Civil War provided many army officers with a kind of training that proved indispensable to them in that later, prolonged conflict. When hostilities ceased, Sherman, Sheridan, Dodge, Custer, Grierson, and other commanders again resumed the harsh field of guerrilla warfare against their Indian foes--tough, hard fighters.

With the inauguration of the so-called Quaker Peace Policy during President Grant's first administration, the hands of the army were tied. The Fort Sill reservation became a place of refuge for the marauding bands that went forth unmolested to raid in Texas, Oklahoma, and Mexico. The toll in human life reached such proportions that the government finally turned the southwestern Indians over to the army for discipline, and a permanent settlement of the bands was achieved by 1875.

From extensive research, conversations with both Indian and white eyewitnesses, and his familiarity with Indian life and army affairs, Captain Nye has written an unforgettable account of these stirring times. The delineation of character and the reconstruction of colorful scenes, so often absent in historical writing, are to be found here in abundance. His Indians are made to live again: his scenes of post life could have been written only by an army man.

Brilliant for travelers. Makes life so easy
As travelers know, most hotels in Europe tend to be older (bonus for 100+ years) and may have a single outlet in the room. I looked for something like this IN Europe to no avail. My husband argued that I didn't need such a thing, but we travel with 2-3 laptops and 2-3 cellphones between us if work is involved. This adapter is AWESOME! I can't tell you how much I love it. It gives you extra space for the one wide charger we all are stuck with, without crowding out the middle plug. It put the USB ports above the outlets, not below, so your plugs don't block access. It is lightweight, compact, and has a long enough cord to reach where you need it to go. My husband has now absconded with it and I'm buying a second one. It is worth every penny and every inch of space it takes; both of which are minimal. Fantastic product. NOT paid for review, just LOVE LOVE this thing.

Perfect for Traveling
I bought this last minute as I couldn't find my other power adaptor and I'm glad I did. I used it traveling around the Mediterranean and it was perfect. The "surge protector" design worked well. It has regular plug outlets as well as USB-B and USB-C connectors. W as able to charge my phone, iPad and watch at the same time. It stored easily in my suitcase and didn't take up too much space. I am very pleased with this product.

Perfect 220V Power Extender
Used this on a recent European trip and it worked perfectly, providing me with the extra outlets I needed to power my PC, multiple chargers and phones. European pin connection with US outlets and USBs. If you are planning to go to a country with 220V, don't expect to use a 110V extender with a plug connector - it may well burn out (though most electronics will work fine when connected to 220 via their chargers and power supplies). This one is compact and easy to pack. I have a larger 220v strip purchased for another trip and this one will be traveling with me from now on due to its compact size and lower weight.

Absolutely great for travel but not enough wattage to charge a macbook without the macbook brick.
So this thing is absolutely amazing for travel. The extension cord is a great length. The usb ports are secure and snug and it really works very well, it's by FAR my favorite adapter to travel with. I do have one nitpick - the photos clearly show it charging a macbook and yes, it can but not with a straight cable you still need to plug in the macbook power brick to it. I was hoping to avoid that but this adapter does not have enough wattage to charge a macbook without the brick. I included two photos showing the difference in wattage between this and an macbook power brick.

Great for use in Italy!
We spent 3 weeks in Italy in May of 2023. This was so easy to use for making sure all of our cell phones and power bricks were fully charged for the next day of discovery while in Italy. Plugged in effortlessly everywhere we stayed in Italy. We used all the charging ports and the USA outlets for two dual voltage power packs (remember the Italian grid is 240VAC not 120VAC like in USA) and my dual voltage CPAP power brick. No problems any where - it worked flawlessly. I would not suggest using it for curling irons or blow dryers or any very high wattage devices and anything you plug into it that does not say dual voltage on the device may be destroyed and possible catch fire! So do be aware of what you use with it as it does not drop the voltage to 120VAC from the 240VAC Italian wall outlets. Nice feature is that it comes with an adapter you can use when you get back to USA so you can use it at home till you pack your bags for the next trip!
