Cubaris sp. White Sharks are a delightful dwarf species of isopods, under a centimeter long when full-grown. The variety has alternating stripes of orange, black, and white. Colors are in a different orders on different individual isopods, usually with a white saddle in the middle like pandas.

I've found White Sharks to be a bit antisocial. Like other Cubaris varieties they can be slow to establish a larger population, and shy. They prefer to burrow more than surface-roaming. I had no clue how many I had until they swarmed on food one day! I have found that they often don't touch fresh food, waiting until it begins to decay before swooping in. Keepers usually advise to remove food mold that may entrap mancae (baby isopods), but when I have tried to do so I've discovered White Sharks burrowing all through it.

Preferred humidity  Very High  cover about 1/3 with sphagnum moss and use plenty of leaves and hides to retain humidity.
