Jean-Charles described 2019 as “Blue Velvet”, a vintage that offers “a beautiful complementarity between fruity Merlots, rich in sugar… and dense, well-structured, very fresh Cabernets”. His flagship Lynch Bages is a glorious, grandiose wine, boasting huge concentration, yet there’s a sense on grace and poise. There’s a lovely florality to the fruit; violet scented cassis, Asian spice, sumptuous crème de mûre, notes of pencil shavings, tobacco and cedar. It feels more exuberant than the cerebral, introverted 2018, yet it’s just as profound. There’s a veneer of fleshy fruit that covers the muscular, brooding core of deep cassis that delights the palate. Restrained, controlled, this builds and builds revealing layers of fruit and mineral complexity. Dense, but never weighty, this glides effortlessly coating the palate revealing swathes of purple fruit, painting a picture of fine detail with its glorious tannic profile. So much energy, so much power; what a fabulous Lynch Bages. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Château Lynch-Bages was originally founded in the 18th century by Thomas Lynch, the son of a Galway merchant, who had fled to Bordeaux after the defeat of Catholic King James by William of Orange at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690. Thomas was born in Bordeaux and married Elisabeth Drouillard, the daughter of the owner of the Bages estate. Following the death of her father in 1749, Elisabeth and Thomas inherited the estate, affixing the Lynch name to the property in the village of Bages. Château Lynch-Bages has been owned by the Cazes family since 1939.

Got here so quickly! I had no problems whatsoever with the book, the book cover was just a little wrinkled, but I'm sure that's just from traveling. The book on the inside, the pages are clean and crisp. I will happily recommend them to other buyers! Thank you!!

The information in this book changed my opinion of career counseling as a foundation for mental health counseling from a holistic approach. Assessments in this book and the accompanying Using Assessment Results for Career Development book are invaluable together.

I love the aspects of career counseling. But this book makes the theories hard to understand.

High energy mindset book, but very repetitive
Format: Hardcover
The 10X Rule is a very high energy, motivational book focused on taking massive action and setting goals much higher than what most people think is realistic. The strongest part is the mindset shift. It constantly pushes the idea that success requires way more effort, persistence, and volume than people typically expect. If you are looking for motivation to work harder and avoid playing it safe, the message definitely hits. It also does a good job challenging excuses and comfort zones. The tone is very direct and intense, which can be useful if you respond well to that style of motivation. However, the book is very repetitive. The same core idea of “10X effort” is repeated throughout almost every section in slightly different ways, which can make it feel stretched out. It is more motivational than practical, so if you are looking for step-by-step systems or structured strategies, this may not be what you are expecting. Overall, it’s a strong mindset book if you want intensity and motivation, but less useful if you are looking for detailed execution plans.
