Over time and with use, the leather will assume a unique patina. If desired, condition with mineral oil or beeswax leather conditioner.

PRODUCTION & DESIGN

These Thick Leather Coasters are the only way to protect your favorite coffee table as you enjoy your coffee or when you're watching the game with a beer. You've got 6 coasters in this pack, perfect for you and all of your friends.  

Each coaster is hand-cut and hand-sewn to ensure excellent quality and a long lasting life, and fire-branded with our mascot, the Teco. This owl, according to Guatemalan urban legend, brings good luck to those who stumble across one at night. When you're not using the coasters, simply store them away in your Hide & Drink leather coaster holder, which is also made from thick, Full Grain Leather. Enjoy!

A little bit about our product creation...

All of our products are diligently handmade by H&D's local artisans in La Antigua, Guatemala. The durable leather is subtly fire-branded with our signature mark, the Owl. In Guatemala, owls (or 'tecos') are a harbinger of good fortune, which is why we at Hide & Drink want to offer you a continuous source of positive energy and good luck in your home.

The leather we use, originating from our multi-generational family owned supplier, is nothing but Full Grain Leather, the best you can get when it comes to leather. This type of leather comes from the top layer of the hide, and contains all of the grain, hence its name. It's the best leather than you can buy and Hide & Drink is its biggest fan. You can stop looking now, you've found the cream of the crop.

The tanning process is something that we take pride in. Our rustic leather is created through removing the hair, extracting the moisture, taking out the oils and, of course, the natural preservatives. The leather is placed in a large container filled with new oils, coloring and preservatives, and there it takes on its new color and thus its new personality. The finishing process consists of pressing the leather with heated plates, hung up to dry and sprayed and finished with a sealer. Finally, it is pressed once more and then ready for its transformation, in which it is carefully handcrafted by the diligent locals of La Antigua, Guatemala, where our workshop is located.

My dog is singularly obsessed with playing ball. He would drop a steak to chase a ball. (He'd return to the steak, but not without the retrieved ball. He's not an idiot.) He makes dangerous leaps, crashes into trees, and runs fast enough to catch thrown balls before they even hit the ground. Since he doesn't care about his own wellbeing, it's my job to protect him as much as I can. And a lot of balls are hard enough to cause him pain or dental damage when he mistimes a catch. Enter the ChuckIt Glow Ball! The minute Cowboy got his first Glow Ball, he no longer had any interest in the dozens of tennis balls scattered around the house and yard. If I took the Glow Ball away and instead threw a tennis ball, Cowboy would run to retrieve the ball, then return without it and begin looking all over the house for the Glow Ball. The Glow Ball is tough enough to survive Cowboy's big, sharp chompers, yet it's soft enough to do no harm when it hits him in the face. The glow feature is a huge bonus, too. Cowboy gets distracted by chipmunks and squirrels when we're playing, so he sometimes can't remember where he dropped the ball to pursue the interloper. If the ball was exposed to enough light before it was misplaced, it will be easy to find once the sun goes down. (Otherwise, Cowboy always finds it eventually.) When I'm feeling nocturnal, I'll put the ball under a light for a few minutes to activate the electrons, then treat my boy to a middle-of-the-night game of fetch. I was so happy to see these on sale, I bought a lifetime supply for my pantry. The size guide seems accurate. ChuckIt recommended the large size for a dog of Cowboy's weight and that size is perfect. Highly recommended product.

I was trying to figure out which of the many different balls this company offers, and I was getting frustrated but then i was SOOOO happy to see they had multiple sets that had multiple of the different balls they offer!! The orange ball works great and bounces just high enough that it doesn’t clear our patio wall, but enough for him to go and jump up to retrieve. But the glow in the dark ball is his favorite! Sometimes we even glow it up under a light inside the house if it’s dark outside, and he will play with it outside in the dark haha he loves it!!! And I think it’s pretty cool too!! All of the balls this company overs are VERY durable! We realized early on that we cannot give our dog regular tennis balls cuz his favorite thing to do is tear the outside fabric off!! So we were trying to figure out what company has the best balls for dogs so they can’t sit there and try to pry them apart, and we found this company!! We have already bought from them about 3 times and all of their balls are durable and bounce how they say they will bounce!! They have the super bouncers and the glow in the dark one and the one with angles that will bounce in different directions and the ones you can throw REALLYY far! Overall, all the balls from this company are very durable, bounce really good, and keep my dog occupied without allowing him to sit there and tear it apart!!! Which i love cuz I do not like when he stops playing with us to sit there and try to take off the fabric, cuz then he could swallow it! So always buy the balls from this company!!!
