The AJAX FireProtect 2 RB is a next-generation wireless detector designed to provide comprehensive safety against fire and carbon monoxide poisoning. This sleek black device is equipped with three advanced sensors—heat, smoke, and carbon monoxide—to ensure the earliest possible detection of any threat. Its patented smoke chamber is designed to be maintenance-free, protecting the dual-spectrum optical sensor from dust, dirt, and insects, which significantly reduces false alarms. The detector can distinguish between smoke and water vapor, making it suitable for installation in various environments, including kitchens.
Advanced Detection Technologies
The FireProtect 2 RB utilizes a dual-spectrum optical sensor to identify smoke by the size of particles in the air, ensuring a swift and accurate response to real fires while ignoring harmless substances like steam. In addition to smoke detection, it features two built-in thermistors that react to rapid temperature increases, triggering an alarm if the temperature exceeds 147°F or rises more than 50°F in a minute or less. The integrated chemical CO sensor provides a crucial layer of protection against the silent threat of carbon monoxide, with a sensor life of 10 years. The detector will sound an alarm if CO concentration exceeds dangerous levels, potentially saving lives.
Seamless Integration and Reliable Performance
This detector operates on AJAX's proprietary Jeweller radio communication technology, ensuring a secure and reliable connection with the hub over a long range. All transmitted data is protected by block encryption with a floating key. In the event of a fire, the interconnected alarm feature will activate the sirens of all fire detectors in the system within 20 seconds. While it can function as a standalone unit with its powerful 85 dB built-in siren, connecting it to an AJAX hub unlocks its full potential, including remote configuration and instant notifications to your smartphone via the Ajax app. The device is powered by replaceable batteries with a life of up to 7 years.
