RA 7709 SOUTHERN RAILWAY "QUEEN MARY" EXPRESS GOODS BRAKE VAN PLATE.These were constructed in 1936 for use on non stop express goods services, supplementing the 1925 LBSCR AC power cars turned 1933 25 ton bogie goods brake vans. Due to their large size, they were given the nickname of "Queen Mary". This example has been at some stage repainted although an older restoration. The plate measures 13 1 2 X 7 1 4".
