Waals has a Bachelors of Science in Psycho-Biology Pre-Veterinary with a minor in Evolutionary Studies from Albright College. She has been a life long cat owner, raw feeding since 2010 and Bengal cat breeder since 2016. Much of her days are dedicated to caring for her cats as well as continuing to research and educate others on species appropriate raw diets not only through personal and hands-on experience but scientific research.
