The Jaguar XK150 was produced between 1957 and 1961 by Jaguar Cars in Coventry. Classed as a sports car and with minimal rear seating, it came as a 2-3 seater coupé, 2-3 seater convertible or a 2 seater roadster. The standard engine was 3.4L but most often the car was fitted with the SE engine which boosted the power. The XK150 differed from its predecessors in that it had a one-piece windscreen, a wider bonnet that opened down to the wings and on the roadster, the bonnet was longer. The car also sported a distinctive range of colour schemes during its lifetime, including black, bright red, Old English White, British Racing Green and a striking dark blue among others, each already produced by Oxford. And now, the roadster makes an equally distinctive entrance in grey, registered 186 HYK.
The exterior bodywork is complemented with lots of chrome to windscreen surrounds, grille, bumpers and wheels. The interior is moulded in a contrasting red including the floor, seats, side panels and tonneau cover. The detailed dashboard is also red with a grey instrument panel and authentic brown steering wheel with silver spokes.
The XK150 was superseded in 1961 by the equally iconic E-Type, which is also immortalised as an Oxford miniature.
