The winery itself is located within a protected nature reserve, where vines mingle with olive groves amid a biodiverse ecosystem of flora and fauna.

Today, the estate is run by Annamaria and Clara Sala, the great-granddaughters of the original founders. They guide the winery with a focus on sustainability, organic viticulture, and the elevation of indigenous Sicilian grapes.

“Dumé” is 100% Frappato, a high-acid, drought-resistant red grape native to the island. In recent years, Frappato has become wildly popular among wine lovers searching for lighter-bodied reds beyond the familiar worlds of Gamay and Pinot Noir. The wine is fermented in stainless steel, preserving its fresh, vibrant character and true varietal expression. With bright acidity and mellow, silky tannins, this is a perfect red wine as we move into the warmer nights of the year.
