Replaces the original charcoal grate from your Large Big Green Egg and Primo Medium (Round). This will fit other similar Kamado Grills, but fitment is up to you. Refer to measurements below. This grate/divider set offers the double benefit of improved air flow AND a vertical firebox divider. The OEM charcoal grates of some of the Kamado style grills don't have enough holes in the grate to allow adequate airflow. Round grate measures 9.5 inches in diameter and the firebox divider locks into the center slot and stands 7 inches tall and measures 15 inches across the top. The Ash Dragon fire grate upgrade is designed to improve the performance of your Large Big Green Egg and the Primo (round) Medium. The grid design allows for better airflow to the charcoal and will not clog with ash like the small holes on the original fire grate. The grates/dividers are laser cut out of ¼" plate steel. Everything that is made out of steel will rust, and if steel gets hot enough it will warp. These are no different and I make no claims or warranties otherwise. Despite that, they should last a good long time and perform as designed. I have been making these for over five years now, and I am still using my original prototype. Cooking with a kamado grill is more of an art than a science, so have fun experimenting. There are many factors that determine how hot and how fast your grill gets up to temperature. By using half the amount of fuel, you can expect it to heat up a little slower, or not reach quite as high of a temperature as it might with a full bowl of charcoal. Using the divider for two zones is especially handy for cooking something like burgers or chicken on the hot side and vegetables on the cool side.
