The Whittet-Higgins CC series is a one-piece mechanically self-locking clamp collar that grips the shaft when its integral socket-head cap screw is tightened, drawing the collar bore tight around the shaft. It delivers infinite axial adjustment and secure positioning of bearings and other power transmission components, holding firmly against vibration, shock, and torque without cutting or repairing a shaft keyway.
The one-piece design provides more secure locking than set-screw collars and is effective on both soft and hardened shafts. Standard collars are black-oxide-coated carbon steel with a hardened alloy clamp screw, rated to 300°F, and are also offered in stainless steel and aluminum alloy.
